Modern Embroidery Workshop
Introduction to Modern Embroidery
Sunday, February 18th | 10:00am-1:00pm | North Park
Hosted by: Meg Rosko of Nutmeg & Honeybee
Join Meg Rosko, of Nutmeg & Honeybee, as we learn to create a modern embroidery hoop. Embroidery has taken a multi-media-based approach as artists have discovered the impact of using more textures throughout an embroidery project. These wall art pieces capture the beauty and curiosity of playing with different colors and textures.
This introductory class is great for all skill levels who are ready to learn the art of modern embroidery. Included in the workshop: embroidery hoop and canvas, gold embroidery scissors, needles, various colors of embroidery thread, an assortment of yarns and beads, a needle threader, a fabric pen, and a small box to take home all the supplies.
During the workshop, students can expect to learn the following embroidery skills: satin stitch, french knots, rope stitch, turkey stitch, yarn stitches, and beading. Although students will not finish the hoops during this 3-hour workshop, everyone attending will have all the supplies and instructions needed to finish them at home.
