Meet the Artist

Amy Paul

A San Diego native, Amy Paul studied at the University of San Diego, receiving a degree in Humanities and later her MA in Art History. In addition to owning Pigment, she continues to teach at local colleges where she nurtures her love of art and art history.

Her paintings, acrylic on wood with a thick lacquered finish, are inspired by the mundane. Her imagery stemming from the ordinary–shadows stretching beneath a bending branch or graphic architecture, crisp and contrasting against the sky. Creative discovery amid habitual tasks and the sensitive study of contour and color are central to her work.
