Illustrated by Stephanna Bennett.
"Power is more than just a word. It is a movement. The Black freedom struggle of the 1960s propelled the United States into a time of deep self-critiquing that has carried on even to the modern day. The Afro and natural hair are symbolic of a pride for one’s roots and a rejection of Eurocentric standards continuously pushed on black women. I created this design with 60s aesthetics in mind, but also as a reminder of the power black women posses."
