Blue Birds is one of many paintings from a series titled Guardians. Birds in this series are symbols, guardian protectors, an idea first formulated when Paul used birds in a portrait piece of her grandmother. Paul also loves to study the contour and shape of plant life. A bundle of dried eucalyptus adorns her studio and is referenced repeatedly throughout the series. Blue Birds was originally painted in acrylic on wood and is printed here at 9.35" x 19".
